Mr jellybelly got it into his head to re-decorate our living room and kitchen a few weeks ago.
.
It was of course left to me to cast the final vote on what colour paint to have.
.
I did try steering both him and boy*jelly towards pink, but I was outvoted!
.
As it turned out, it only took about 7 tester pots to get the colour right in the living room, but the kitchen was another story.
.
I had in my head a nice duck-egg blue for the walls, but in reality it was just too cold and didn't go with the cupboards, worktop or floor.
.
So our kitchen became a colour-chart of its own, and the shed rapidly filled up with just-opened cans of paint!
.
.
After many evenings flicking through umpteen colour charts, I decided on "Mud Hut" and bought a tester pot. It was just the job ... at last!
.
Mud Hut as depicted in the paint brochure:
.
.
While I was at the Downton fair on Saturday Mr jelly and boy*jelly went to buy the paint and made a start on painting the walls.
.
Only they came back with "Muddy Puddle".
Not "Mud Hut".
.
So another just-opened paint pot has been added to the pile in the shed , the DIY shop is considering giving us our own parking space and we are now (finally) painting the kitchen.
.
(And when I say "we", I mean "he")

Awww, Emma, sorry to hear you got outvoted with the pink. I vote pink too! There, see you aren't alone.
Have a great week,
Dy
I love that color. I wish our Lowe's here would start carrying sample pots, I don't want to buy a pint everytime I want to check a paint color!
I am entirely in sympathy with the colour choosing problem. I love duck egg but unless you live in a sun filled cottage in Cornwall it doesn't work. We have a whole tin in the garage. The outside of the house is another story...is the green we like 'Cooking Apple' or 'Ball room' or 'Vert de terre'...I love the colour of the little round gazebo..did you happen to write it down?
