Put A Sock On Boredom ...

.
Just now :
.
I make my way upstairs to see what boy*jelly is up to alone in his bedroom, he makes a swift move and slams the door shut.
.
Him : "Don't come in!"
.
Me : "Why? What are you doing in there?"
.
Him : "I can't tell you"
.
In my head "OMG! He's six! This shouldn't be happening for about another 9 years. What's he doing in there? OK. Calm down. Perhaps he's drawn on the wall or something and he doesn't want you to find out...."
.
Me : "Are you drawing with your pens in there?"
.
Him : "No! Don't come in!"
.
In my head : "Why won't he let me in? I'm his mum!"
.
Me : "But what are you doing?"
.
Him : "Nothing! I can't tell you. Don't come in"
.
Me : "Right, well I'm just going downstairs now"
.
In my head : "What's he doing?"
.
Two minutes later he makes his way downstairs.
.
.
Wearing every single pair of socks he owns on his feet.
.
.
I totally knew that's what he was up to ...

I never cease to marvel at the way the brain of a boy works. They are 'wired' WAAAAAAAY differently than us girlies, and thank goodness for that. Great story. x

phew.... That was scary! but very cute!

My 11 year old daughter beacame a woman at junior school today, and was a little upset and the school was completely unprepaired.. I zipped home got everything I needed and a clean change of uniform and went back to sort her out... thank goodness Daniel had his first afternoon of pre-school and I didn't have to drag him around with me too!

They are both growing up sooo fast!

You just cannot imagine that the boy that comes down stairs wearing all his socks, could enter into what I in MARMOT (Mothers Against Rejected Mothers of Teenagers) like to refer to as, the Revolting Tunnel of Teens. It may be chickin pox today, but wait until he tells you he is getting a tatoo on his 18th birthday. We cry in disbelief as we remember how we carried and nutured that boy but now he wants to go and mark his beautiful skin. Thankfully at MARMOT, like minded people have joined the cause and are comforted in knowing they are not alone, and come to realise, as a general rule of nature, that the Revolting Tunnel does have a light at the end of it... Just be sure its not a honking great freight train bearing down on you...
