Meet Poppy Loo-Loo

This is our dog Poppy.
.

.
(Also known as "Poppy-Loo-Loo" "Pops" and "La Chien")
.
We've had her since she was a puppy and she just had her 13th birthday in May.
.

.
She has no idea she is an old lady and would still quite happily jump in the river after sticks if we let her (which we don't).
.
.
.

.
On her walk yesterday she found an expired rabbit that she began to tuck into (sorry Rachael Rabbit)
.
As I sit here typing this, I can't help but notice the rabbit is making it's presence known. Poppy is asleep at my feet, blissfully unaware of the near-fatal-toxic smells emanating from her rear end, whilst I have half my t-shirt over my face to stop my eyes from watering.
.
She's also a little hard of hearing.
.
Except when the postman rings the doorbell at some unearthly time of the morning and then she wakes the whole neighbourhood up with her protective barking.
.
Oh, and she always manages to hear me opening a tin of tuna!
.
She still likes to investigate rubbish bins and is over the moon if she finds some fox pooh to roll in (bleuch).
.

.
"But fox pooh smells so yummy"
.

.
"Well now I just smell like wet dog!"
.
She was very tolerant of having a baby brought into her life
.

.
"It's staying for how long?!"
.
Especially when the baby turned into a toddler
.

.
"Get this thing off of me"
.
She still likes her cuddly toys - here are her duck and zebra
.
.

.
Zebra on the receiving end of a darn-good thrashing.
.
We used to have another dog called Daisy.
.
I will share her with you in another post.

Our current dog is almost 13, likes rolling in poo, and enjoys the rubbish bin.

she's lovely! Red our labrador did the very same thing recently by eating a dead rabbit he found on the hills... eugh! I could have taken out shares with air-wick!
