Raise Your Glasses ...

.
Do you remember the other week I picked up my *new* glasses?
.
I wore them religiously for, oooh, at least 3 days.
.
Then I started to leave them on my bedside table in the morning.
.
Then they became the world's most expensive Alice-Band, pushed back on my head keeping the hair out my eyes.
.
Then I got fed up with them constantly pulling my hair out, and Mr Jelly got fed up with me walking up to him with a pair of glasses dangling in my hair expecting him to un-knot the mess, so I started taking them off and putting them down.
.
And that means I lost them.
.
Yep.
.
They're in the house somewhere ...
.
... probably with my proper set of keys that I lost about 3 weeks ago.
.
That means I've got to have a big tidy-up session.
.
Bum.
.
I hate getting old.
.
.

.

(and don't anybody suggest I get one of those spectacle cords that you wear round your neck either!)

Why don't you get one of those spectacle cords you wear round your neck? I mean, I could do with one because my glasses have gone awol too. My eyesight's so bad without them that I can't read the tiny print at the bottom of the page.

And then there's the problem that as your eyes deteriorate more and more, it becomes more difficult to buy new glasses because when you try samples on in the opticians they only contain plain glass so you can't SEE yourself ............... It's onward and downward now Emma! ha! ha! :O)

its a catch 22. Trying to find the glasses so you can see. But cant see to find the glasses!!! Torment!

My brother used to keep glasses all around his house, so that they were within reach wherever he might be--otherwise he could never find any. Once he was looking for his glasses when there was a pair perched atop his head.

I got new glasses a few weeks ago and knew I'd loose them within a matter of days. I did the sensible thing ('cause I'm at that age now, or so my mum keeps telling me)and bought a chain thing so that they would dangle from my neck. After 2 days of wearing it I had a nice rash around my neck. Stopped wearing the chain and have subsequently been misplacing my specs all over the house. Happy days!

i had a teacher way back when I was young, she keeps her glasses up on her head to keep the hair out of her eyes too. And she contantly will lose them too... asking us, 7 years olds, "where are my glasses?" We would all point to her head and chanted,"Up on your head!"
