. Gok's Fashion Fix
.
Of course you have! Us girls love Gok and his down-to-earth realisation that 98% of the female population have curves, boobs (or 'bangers') and saggy bits, but with his help, we can still look as trendy as any stick insect on the catwalk.
.
I love the way he creates a capsule wardrobe with a few key pieces.
.
.
I love the way he makes a woman feel confident with her body.
.
BUT.
.
There's one part of the show where I feel they could do more in the way of "reality".
.
I'm talking about the designer vs high-street section where Gok pits his savvy know-how against a designer who has access to designer couture.
.
For those of you who aren't familiar with the show, they have a cat-walk in the middle of a shopping centre and each week the two designers have a "theme" to make 4 different outfits, Gok uses clothes from High Street shops and she only uses designer labels.
.
The crowd don't know which designer styled which outfit and have to vote on the ones they like the best.
.
Invariably, Gok's high-street style wins each week.
.
.
But where is the stylist using clothes from charity shops, jumble sales and car-boot sales?
.
We all know that spending £3,058 on clothes is for the very-rich, but much as I'd love to be able to spend £263 on one outfit, I can't possible justify it.
.
.
There is as much choice to be found in charity shops, jumblies and even supermarkets at a fraction of the cost.
.
So I'd like to put myself forward for the next season of Fashion Fix as the thrifty-stylist and only have a budget of £20 per outfit.
.
It might take me a bit longer to find the complete outfit, but I'd have fun trying!
.
Oh. And one more thing to leave you with.
.
I think I know where she got her inspiration for her own outfit from this week .....

Grin, glad wasn't drinking my tea when I scrolled down to your final photo !! You are right though they are very similar.
I have been looking at goks banger holders on the internet and his all in one sausage suits... i think I would pull every muscle in my flabby body trying to get into one, by which time I would be too knackered to go out! and for the price of them I couldn't afford an outfit to go over the top!
I must say I don't watch the programme, I am already way to depressed about my size to watch any of these "be proud of your body" programmes! ;D
X Alex
I wish we had that show here in America! Looks like fun. But yeah, the "lower" prices are still pretty ridiculous!
Okay, one of the reasons I love reading your posts: Trying to figure out what some of the words mean. We speak the same language, but not. :o)
I really like Gok, but I totally agree with you, his high street stuff is still way out of my price range - £90 for a skirt!!!
I love what he does with haberdashery and would love to be GOk-ed to get a lovely capsule wardrobe and at least he does send the old stuff to charity rather than binning it like Trinny and Susannah do
April xx
My daughters and her friends adore this programme. I sometimes don't agree that Gok's outfits look better than the designer ones, but hey ... what do I know? Fashion and I parted company a couple of decades ago!

I agree £260 on an outfit is expensive. I think the outfit I wore today was:
£2 vest top - in sale at next
£0 T-shirt - adopted from my sister in law when she had a clear out
£15 - jeans from the supermarket
£45 - DM's that i've had for about four years.
so thats £62 but baring in mind how long I've had my DM's I don't think they'd be £45 now lol
I guess the programme has some funding from high street stores - or they want to recommend items that you can go out and buy there - or they may want to sell the programme idea to another country. Charity shop bargains cannot be replicated and here in France charity shops don't exist - boo hoo...
LMAO at the look-a-like.
I can't watch that programme any more because the catwalk bit seems like somewhat of a fix.
I love Gok but this his my least favourite show of his for that very reason
I haven't heard of this, but it sounds like a show that I'd LOVE!
Totally agree with this, and I've said similar to my DH while we've been watching.
I also have to wonder if it's entirely possible to live with a capsule wardrobe of 26 items when one of them is a belt and two of them are scarves. I could never, ever do that!
ROFL @ Sybil :)
